Sha'ab
Anbar is the only lagoon down South that has safe anchorage
and so the ship anchors here daily during the Southern dive
visits.
Some
trips are taken with the zodiac from Sha'ab Anbar and other
trips are taken with the ship - but always returning to the
lagoon in the evening for safe anchorage.
During
out visits to Sha'ab Anbar we discovered a fantastic dive site
which we have named 'Jerry-Can-Point'
(this was because we saw a jerry-can floating on the top!).
We visit this site by zodiac and you can see manta rays, great
hammerhead sharks as well as an abundance of marine life, large
schools of barracuda, jack-fish etc. It is really well worth
visiting.
Another
fantastic site to visit is Sailada Kabir, known affectionately
as Turtle Island. This is everyone's fantasy island! The beaches
are made up of beautiful white coral sand surrounded by the
turquoise sea. It is on this island that the turtles lay their
eggs and you will encounter turtles on every dive.
